New Delhi The government has asked Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to vacate the government bungalow at Lodhi Estates. A moratorium has been granted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for one month i.e. 1 August 2020. Priyanka was living in this luxury bungalow number 35 of Lodhi State for years. The order cited the removal of the SPG security system as the reason behind the eviction of the bungalow. In the notice issued by the ministry, it has been said that if Priyanka does not vacate this bungalow till August 1, then she will also have to pay a fine.

The Property Directorate of the Ministry of Urban Development on Wednesday canceled the allotment of Bungalow Number 35 of Lodi Estate, allotted in the name of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. In a letter issued in the name of Priyanka Vadra, the directorate has also asked to pay the outstanding Rs 3,46,677 as rent for the government bungalow. This rental is due as of June 30, 2020. On 30 June 2020, the Ministry of Urban Development was informed by the Union Home Ministry that the SPG is no longer under the protection of Priyanka. Instead, he has been given the security of Z Plus, on the basis of which he is not entitled to a government bungalow.

On the basis of these facts, the allotment of the bungalow allotted in the name of Priyanka has been canceled. He has also been asked to pay the dues before vacating the bungalow. The government has a clear policy regarding the allocation of government bungalows to a common man. Under this, the bungalow has been asked to vacate. The bungalow has been ordered to be vacated by August 1, 2020. According to the decision of the Cabinet Committee on Housing Affairs on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in view of the seriousness of the security threat to a particular person, government housing is allotted in such cases.

In the notice sent by the Ministry, it has been said that after the removal of the SPG Security of the Ministry of Home Affairs, you have been given Z plus protection. There is no provision for allotment of government bungalows on security grounds. In such a situation, allocation of house number 35 of Lodhi estate is canceled. You are being given one month’s time. If you do not vacate the bungalow in due time, then as per the rules, a charge or paint rent will be charged.

Explain that the government had withdrawn the SPG protection cover given to Priyanka, her mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi in November last year. All three leaders were given Z + category protection in lieu of SPG protection cover. The security arrangements of Z + category are under the responsibility of Central Reserve Police Force ie CRPF. Not only this, the government had also withdrawn the SPG security cover of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. At present, SPG Commandos are only under the protection of PM Modi.
