PRL recruitment 2020 is underway at present for about 20 Junior Research Fellow vacancies at the center of the Department of Space (DOS), Ahmadabad. Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) is widely known as the “cradle of space sciences,” and is a premier national research institution under the aegis of DOS, Government of India. Selected JRF candidates will be eligible for a salary of Rs 31,000 per month.
Who can Apply for PRL Recruitment 2020?
According to the notification issued on the official PRL website, candidates with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Science or Engineering with at least a first-class (60 percent) or equivalent grades at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels can apply. Even candidates who are expecting their Master’s by August 2020 can apply provided they secure at least a first-class or equivalent grade up to the last semester, says the website.
Candidates must have also either passed CSIR-UGC-NET in December 2018, June 2019 or December 2019; GATE in 2018, 2019 or 2020; or JEST 2020.
The ongoing research activities in PRL are related to astronomy and astrophysics, solar physics, space and atmospheric sciences, atomic and molecular physics, optical physics, astrochemistry, theoretical physics, geosciences, and planetary sciences. Selected JRF candidates will be deployed in PRL from July 2020. JRF after the completion of two years will be reviewed and may be awarded the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF). SRF is eligible for a salary of Rs 35,000 per month.
