Starting from Mount Kailash in Bhadarwah, Ujj Darya, after traveling 100 kilometers in Jammu division, meets at Nankot in Pakistan. After the intervention of the PMO office, work has been done to use 100% water in Jammu and Kashmir, changing the form of the previous project. After the completion of the project, up to 95 per cent of the water from Jammu and Kashmir going towards Pakistan will be blocked. After the preparation of Shahpur Kandi project on Ravi Dariya, Ravi Dariya will also be almost dry from Pakistan side.
In such a situation, India’s major strategic surgical strike on Pakistan is being considered. The confluence of sutras, duniyari, khad, bhini and talayana in Panchtirthi increases the velocity of water in Ujj. It is proposed to prepare this project from this place. The Ujj multipurpose project will irrigate 24000 hectares of land in Samba and Kandi areas of Kathua district. Earlier there was a provision for irrigation of 16000 hectares, now it has been increased to 8000 hectares. Lift irrigation schemes of Bilawar have also been included in this.
