The people of the society have welcomed this holiday decision taken by the government.

In which states will there be a holiday?

The states where holiday has been declared on 12th February include Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. The state governments of these states have declared holiday in the provinces. In Punjab, Shobha Yatra will be taken out in many districts on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Ravidas Jayanti.

Meat and liquor shops closed

A procession will be taken out on the day of Prakash Parv. Keeping in mind the religious sentiments, it has been announced to keep meat and liquor shops closed in Punjab. DC Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that several steps have been taken by the administration to prevent any incident of any kind.

When is Ravidas Jayanti celebrated?

Every year on the day of Magh Purnima, the birth anniversary of Saint Guru Ravidas Ji is celebrated with reverence and devotion. On this day, his followers perform special worship and take part in spiritual rituals by bathing in holy rivers.

Facility of three optional holidays

According to the official holiday calendar of the Madhya Pradesh government, employees can also get some optional leaves this month. Under the state government rules, employees can take a maximum of three days’ leave out of the 68 optional leaves as per their convenience. However, more leaves than this will not be approved.
