If you are a Punjab National Bank customer then you are going to be in for a shock. Because the essential facility of PNB is going to be closed from October 1. Due to which you may face problems in the transaction.
The bank has told its customers that the existing check books of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India will be closed from October 1 . So if you have old check book of these banks , then apply for new check book.
When the old check is closed, you can easily go to the bank and get a new check book. PNB has said that the social tweeted , “L Aktubr 202l by e-OBC and e-UBI will stop old Czech book. Please OBC and UBI old Czech Book of PNB to get themselves replaced by new Czech book. It checkbook PNB K will come with updated IFSC code and MIRC .

Let us inform that on 1 April 2020 , OBC and UBI were merged with PNB. Now everything from the customer to the branch of both the banks belong to PNB. For more details, customers can call on the toll free number 18001802222 .
The Indian Financial System Code and Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Code of ABC and UBI have also changed after the merger. IFSC code is used during online payment.
Whereas MICR code is a 9 digit code. It identifies bank branches that use the electronic clearing system. This code consists of details like bank code , account details , amount and check number. This code is located at the bottom of a check leaf.
