The rule came into force with immediate effect

Indian Railways had also given information about this on its official account. There was a demand from the employees to change the designation of the guard from the year 2004. The employees argued that the job of the guard is not just to show the flag and torch for the signal, so its designation should be changed.
Not changed responsibility

In addition to meeting the needs of the passengers in the trains, the responsibility of handling the parcel material, safety of the passengers and the maintenance of the train is also on the guard.
