To control the rush of passengers during Navratri and festive season, festival special trains are being run continuously by the Railways. Now Railways has also given the gift of a new train to the passengers. Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday flagged off a bi-weekly express train running between Secunderabad and Vasco da Gama. This train has been started from Secunderabad railway station. This train will connect Goa with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Passengers from Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh will get benefit
Secunderabad to Vasco-da-Gama (train number 17039) This train will leave from Secunderabad every Wednesday and Friday at 10:05 pm from 9 October 2024. Vasco-da-Gama to Secunderabad (Train No. 17040) This train will depart from Vasco-da-Gama every Thursday and Saturday at 09:00 am from 10 October 2024. It will reach Secunderabad at 06.20 am. The train will give the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh an option to go to Goa. Along with this, the facilities of passengers going to big cities of Karnataka like Ballari, Hospet, Hubli and Dharwad will also be fulfilled.

Union Minister Jaikishan Reddy said Secunderabad railway station is being redeveloped with world-class standards, on which about Rs 700 crore will be spent. This work is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Secunderabad station is second after New Delhi in operating Vande Bharat Express services. Vande Bharat trains run from here to Bengaluru, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and Nagpur.
