Railways has made preparations to open JTBS i.e. public ticket booking service, which was closed during the Corona period. Tickets can be bought from outside the station. To avoid long lines, passengers used to buy tickets from the counters outside the railway station.
The Jansadharan Ticket Booking Service (JTBS), which has been closed since the Corona period, is now preparing to open the railways. With the opening of JTBS, passengers will get relief, while there will be no need for passengers to queue at congested stations. Due to the closure of JTBS for 18 months, people also faced employment crisis. Lakhs of tickets are issued every month through JTBS across the country, on which one rupee commission goes to the account of the agency owner. Railways has now started checking the status and records of these JTBS, so that it can be found out whether there is any recovery on them.
The Senior Commercial Manager of Ambala Railway Division has issued written orders in this regard on 20 September. The report was sought by 27 September 2021. It is possible that in the month of October, the Ministry of Railways will give green signal to start JTBS.
Let us inform that JTBS were also closed after March 2020. Indian Railways started operating trains, but did not start selling general tickets. Recently, the railways has now derailed the normal trains, whose tickets have started getting from Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS). Now the festive season is going to start, after which there will be a crowd at the station. This is the reason why railways is now preparing to start JTBS so that passengers do not have to stand in long lines at the station for tickets. Passengers will enter the station by buying tickets from outside.
