Railways special trains: The Prayagraj Railway Division has prepared a plan to run more than 150 fair special trains for the crores of devotees coming on Mauni Amavasya, the biggest bathing festival in the Mahakumbh city of Prayagraj. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Senior PRO of Prayagraj Railway Amit Malviya said that Prayagraj Railway will run more than 150 fair special trains on the day of Mauni Amavasya.

He said that operating more than 150 special trains in a day from a station would be a record in itself. Malviya said that on the estimate of the number of regular trains and special trains running from Prayagraj Railway, a train will be operated every 4 minutes on the day of Mauni Amavasya.

Prayagraj Railway Division will handle the crowd

According to him, most trains will run from Prayagraj Junction, apart from this, direction-wise special trains will be operated from other stations of the division. He told that apart from this, regular trains will also be operated as per time. He told that operating more than 150 special trains in a day from a station would be a record in itself. Malviya said that in Kumbh 2019, only about 85 fair special trains were operated on the festival of Mauni Amavasya.

Claim of breaking all records in Mahakumbh 2025

Claiming that all records of devotees will be broken in the divine-grand Mahakumbh 2025, Malviya said that on the day of Amrit Snan before Makar Sankranti, more than 3.5 crore devotees took Sangam bath, for whom Prayagraj Railway Division had run 101 fair special trains and this was a record in itself. Malviya says that in accordance with this, the railway administration is also making preparations for the biggest Amrit bathing festival of Maha Kumbh, Mauni Amavasya.

10 crore devotees will take Sangam bath on Mauni Amavasya

The fair authority estimates that more than 10 crore devotees will take Sangam bath on the day of Mauni Amavasya. The Public Relations Officer said that ten to twenty percent of them are expected to come by train, for which the Prayagraj Railway Division has made full preparations. The senior public relations officer said that along with the movement of trains, tickets and additional shelters have been arranged on the basis of ‘color coding’ for the stay of passengers and reaching the right trains.
