IMD Rainfall Alert, Weather Update: The summer season is gradually starting in North India. The cold is over and now the sun is shining brightly during the day. Meanwhile, a rain alert has been issued for three days in eight states of the Northeast. The Meteorological Department has informed that sporadic to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Arunachal Pradesh during February 14-15, while heavy rain may occur at some places in Arunachal Pradesh on February 14. Light rain is likely at some places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim during February 14-15.
During the last 24 hours, day temperatures have fallen by 1-3°C at many places over plains of northwest India and central India and by about 1-2°C at a few places over the state of West Bengal. Day temperatures have remained well above normal (3°C to 6°C) at many places over central and east India; above normal (1°C to 3°C) at isolated places over western Himalayan region and northern parts of peninsular India and at most places over northwest and north-east India. During the last 24 hours, night temperatures have fallen by 1-3°C at many places over plains of northwest India and central India and have risen by about 1-2°C at a few places over east India.
Further, no significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over western Himalayan region during next 3 days and further increase by 1-2°C during subsequent 2 days. There will be a gradual fall of 1-2°C in minimum temperatures over northwest India and 3-4°C over east India during the next 2 days and an increase of 2-3°C during the subsequent 3 days. There will be a fall of 1-3°C in minimum temperatures over central India during the next 24 hours and an increase of 2-4°C during the subsequent 4 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over west India during the next 2 days and an increase of 2-3°C during the subsequent 2 days.
