The epicenter was reported 40 kilometers west of Hyderabad. The meteorological department said the cyclone would turn into a severe low within 12 hours. Vadugundam is likely to receive light to moderate rains today, officials said.

GHMC officials have asked people in the city not to come out for at least three days as it is likely to rain for days today and tomorrow as well. The traffic jam near Abdullapur Met on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway remained for 5 hours.
