Ranchi, State Bureau. Rajya Sabha Election 2020 Jharkhand will go to polls for two Rajya Sabha seats on June 19. The Election Commission of India announced the election date on Monday. There will be voting in Jharkhand Assembly from 9 am to 4 pm in which the elected MLAs will exercise their franchise. Votes will also be counted on June 19. The voting was earlier scheduled to be held on 26 March, but was postponed by the Commission due to the lockdown.Â
Three candidates are in the fray for the two vacant Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand. JMM supremo Shibu Soren and Congress’s Shahzada Anwar are candidates from the UPA camp, while BJP has fielded its state president Deepak Prakash. Explain that the commission had postponed the election date but retained the validity of the nomination held earlier.
