Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekhar has issued a statement on this occasion. He said, ‘It is with a sense of extreme loss that we bid a final farewell to Shri Ratan Naval Tata. An exceptional leader whose incomparable contribution not only shaped the Tata Group but also wove the basic fabric of our nation. For the Tata Group, Mr. Tata was much more than a chairperson. For me, he was a guru, guide and friend as well.’
He said, ‘With unwavering commitment, the Tata Group under the leadership of Ratan Tata expanded excellence, integrity and innovation. He always remained true to his moral compass. Mr Tata’s dedication to philanthropy and the development of society has impacted lives of millions of people, from education to healthcare, his initiatives have taken deep roots. He endeared himself to many people due to his humility, kindness and unwavering commitment to improving our society.’
