new Delhi. The Government of India has extended the last date given for linking Ration Card with Aadhar Card. Earlier this deadline was till 31 March, which has now become 30 June. This means that you can link your ration card with Aadhar card till June 30. The government believes that after linking this ration card with the Aadhar card, it will be easy to ensure that all the needy are getting their share of food grains.
Let us tell you that the government had extended this time limit even before this. The government had earlier given time till 31 December 2021 for this work, which was later extended till 31 March.
Migrant population will get big benefits
According to a recently released statement, the work of linking ration card with Aadhaar can now be done till June 30, 2022. Ever since the government has declared the ration card as ‘universal’ or one nation-one ration card, the emphasis is on linking it with Aadhaar. The government is also preparing to curb corruption and irregularities through linking with Aadhaar.
Linking of Aadhar card with ration card is especially important for the migrant population who are deprived of ration at their temporary workplace under the National Food Security Act. As soon as these two are connected, such a population can take advantage of ration from anywhere.
Only one ration card will run in the whole country,
The government had started the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ scheme in 2019. The objective of this scheme is to regularize one ration card in the whole country. That is, in which state the ration card is made, it will not make any difference. Ration card made from anywhere will be valid throughout the country. All its work is being done digitally, so that no manipulation can be done.
According to a news of Good Returns, 80 crore people get benefits under the One Nation One Ration Card scheme. A figure has also been given that till the middle of February this year, 96 percent of the beneficiaries of ration have included themselves in the One Nation-One Ration Card scheme. Since the nomination work is going on in many states right now, the government has extended the last date of March 31 to June 30.
