After the implementation of One Nation One Card system in the country, it has become even more important for people to have a ration card. It is not only used to get cheap ration, but it also works as an identity card.
After the implementation of this scheme, a person from any state can take ration anywhere in the country at cheap prices. Having a ration card with a person is as important as Aadhar and PAN card.
If you do not have a ration card yet, then there is no need to panic. You can apply for ration card online from your smartphone while sitting at home. For this, all the states have made a website on their behalf. Go to the website of the state you belong to and apply for the ration card.
There are 3 types of ration cards
– Above Poverty Line (APL)
– Below Poverty Line (BPL)
– For Antyodaya families. Very poor people are kept in Antyodaya category. This category is decided on the basis of the annual income of the person. Apart from this, the things available on different ration cards at cheaper rates, their quantity remains different. It may also differ on the basis of rural and urban areas.
Eligibility conditions
>> It is mandatory for a person to be a citizen of India to get a ration card.
>> The person should not have a ration card of any other state.
>> In whose name the ration card is being made, his age should be more than 18 years.
>> The name of the children below the age of 18 years is included in the ration card of the parents.
>> In a family, there is a ration card in the name of the head of the family.
>> The members who are being included in the ration card must have a close relationship with the head of the family.
>> No family member should have name in any ration card before that.
>> UP government gives assistance of Rs 6000 annually to widows, you can apply online.
How can apply
• To make a ration card, first of all go to the official website of your state.
• After this click on the link with Apply online for ration card.
• Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, health card, driving license etc. can be given as ID proof for making ration card.
• The application fee for ration card ranges from Rs.05 to Rs.45. After filling the application, pay the fee and submit the application.
• After the field verification, if your application is found correct then your ration card will be generated.
These documents are required
Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, any government issued ID card, health card, driving license can be given as ID proof for making ration card. Apart from this, documents like PAN card, passport size photograph, income certificate, electricity bill, gas connection book, telephone bill, bank statement or passbook, rental agreement will also be required as proof of address.
Provision of nominal fees
To get a ration card, the applicant has to pay a nominal fee as well. For this, the applicant will have to know in his state and region. For example in Delhi this fee ranges from Rs 5 to Rs 45. After the application is submitted, it is sent for field verification. The officer verifies the information filled in the form. Normally this test is completed within 30 days of applying. After that the further process takes place. After all the details are verified, the ration card is generated. If any detail is found to be wrong then legal action can also be taken against the applicant.
