Under the Public Distribution System, the second round of free food grains will be distributed between November 20 and 30. Antyodaya card holders will be given 35 kg ration per card and 5 kg per unit on units affiliated to eligible household card holders.
Additional Food Commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey said that ration card holders will have the facility to get food grains under portability. Consumers who cannot get food grains on the basis of Aadhar card will get it through mobile OTP verification. The last date for taking food grains is 30th November.
The government has now instructed the Antyodaya and eligible household card holders to continue the distribution of free ration till Holi. This will benefit 5.84 lakh card holders of Saharanpur district. Now along with wheat, rice, pulses, edible oil and salt will also be available. The supply department has started preparations for distribution.
5.84 lakh eligible households and Antyodaya ration card holders of the district will be given free pulses, edible oil and iodized salt from December 2021 to March 2022. This benefit will be given to them along with the food grains given every month. This pulse to the supply department, The oil and salt will be provided by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED).
District Supply Officer Manish Kumar Singh said that the government has ordered free distribution of one kilogram of pulses, one liter of edible oil and one kilogram of iodized salt per ration card per month from December to March to eligible household and Antyodaya ration card holders.
