Ration Card: The state government has asked all ration card holders to complete the KYC process by February 15. Otherwise, the card will be cancelled.
Ration Card: The central and state governments are implementing various schemes to help the people of our country. Food items are being provided free of cost or at reduced prices through ration cards.
In this situation, the state government has said that families in the state of Odisha must complete the KYC process for their ration cards by February 15th.
While many expected this date to be extended, the government has made it clear that this deadline will not be extended. They have stated that KYC is important to avoid fraud.
Food Distribution Minister Krishna Chandra Bhadra has mentioned that more than 37,000 people have not yet completed their KYC process online. He has asked them to complete it soon as all ration cards that have not completed the process after February 15 will be cancelled.
So far, 6,00,000 new applications have been received for new ration cards. The minister also said that the government will take strict action if ration cards are used for wrong reasons.
There is a law there that prohibits those who pay too much money from having ration cards. There are cases against 8,00,000 people who do not comply with this. So far, 12,000 people have voluntarily returned their ration cards, the government said.
