RBI: All designated branches of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) government offices and agency banks will remain open as per normal working hours on March 30 and 31, the last two days of the current financial year, for the convenience of taxpayers.
RBI: All designated branches of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) government offices and agency banks will remain open as per normal working hours on March 30 and 31, the last two days of the current financial year, for the convenience of taxpayers. This decision has been taken in view of the annual financial year account closing of government accounts. The Reserve Bank said in a statement that electronic transactions can be done till the stipulated time even after March 30 and March 31 being Saturday and Sunday.
The statement said that NEFT and real time payment can be made through RTGS till 12 midnight on March 31, 2024. It said that all necessary arrangements have been made to run special clearing operations across the country to facilitate government receipts and payments.
The central bank said that a special clearing operation will be conducted for government checks on March 30 and 31, 2024. Agency banks are advised that all checks relating to Government accounts may be presented for clearing. The reporting window of March 31 related to reporting of transactions by the Central and State Governments to the RBI will be kept open till 12 noon on April 1, 2024.
