In the coming days, customers can get relief on the charges on digital transactions. It is possible that less charges are levied by the bank on digital payment. An important statement has been given by the Governor of Reserve Bank of India, Shaktikanta Das on this.
What the Governor said: Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das said that due to the coordinated efforts of all the stakeholders, there has been a significant increase in digital payments in recent years. However, there remains concern about whether the fees charged for digital payments are justified or not.
The RBI governor said that there can be both advantages and disadvantages to the burden of these charges by the customers, but these charges should be reasonable. Fees should not be such that they should be a hindrance to the advancement of digital payments. He said that we will soon bring out a discussion paper on this issue. It will cover all aspects of various modes of digital payments.
