That is, all the banks under RBI will be open to the public on Sunday, March 31, 2024. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced this on Wednesday. March 31 is Sunday and it is the last day of the current financial year.

Some of the public sector banks under the RBI include Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank and Indian Overseas Bank. Meanwhile, some private sector banks are also listed under the agency banks of RBI, which include Axis Bank Limited, City Union Bank Limited, DCB Bank Limited, Federal Bank Limited, HDFC Bank Limited and ICICI Bank Limited.

RBI said in the statement that the Government of India has requested to keep all the branches of banks related to government receipts and payments open for transactions on Sunday, March 31, 2024. So that, accounts of all government transactions related to receipts and payments can be maintained in the financial year 2023-24. Similarly, agency banks are advised to keep all their branches related to government business open on March 31, 2024 (Sunday), it said.
