Recruitment Canceled: Punjab Police has canceled the examination conducted to fill 560 posts of Police Sub-Inspectors after reports of cheating and forgery. A spokesman of the police gave this information. According to Punjab Police, the exam has been canceled due to cheating and other reasons.
The spokesman said that in order to maintain the integrity and fairness of the examination process for police recruitment, the examination has been canceled following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.
Earlier, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia demanded a CBI probe into the alleged scam in Punjab Police recruitment, saying fake methods were used in the examination conducted for the recruitment of sub-inspectors. This exam for police recruitment was conducted from August 17 to 14.
