On the one hand, where the customers of Airtel and Vodafone Idea are slipping, on the other hand Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Jio is strengthening its hold in the market even more. It is worth noting that while both these companies have lost their customers, about 99 lakh 20 thousand customers have been connected to Jio network in these three months.

In the month of May, Vodafone Idea and Airtel lost more than 94 lakh users in total, on the other hand, on the other hand, Reliance Jio once again won and in May, 36 lakh 50 thousand new customers joined the Jio network.



Not only Jio, but the state-owned telecom company BSNL also connected more than 2 lakh 76 thousand customers during the month of March to May during lockdown. May also proved to be good for BSNL and in May more than 2 lakh subscribers joined the BSNL network.

During the lockdown, Voda-Idea suffered a major setback as more than 1 crore 55 lakh 96 thousand customers left the network in just three months. During the same period, over 1 crore 12 lakh 74 thousand subscribers were left out of the Airtel network.

The latest figures from TRAI show that the lockdown has passed heavily on the telecom industry and that between March 2020 to May 2020, over 1.66 million subscribers have fallen.

At the end of February 2020, around 116 million 5 lakh customers were using mobile wireless service, while at the end of May 2020, this number had come down to 114 crore 39 lakh.

From an administrative point of view, TRAI has divided the country into 22 circles and in May 2020, there has been a decrease in the number of customers in 20 of 22 circles. These two circles are Kerala and Bihar where the number of customers has increased.



According to TRAI, by the end of May, Reliance Jio is at the forefront with close to 39 crore 27 lakh subscribers and 34.33 percent market share. At the same time, Airtel has close to 31 crore 78 lakh and Vodafone Idea has close to 30 crore 99 lakh customers.

Explain that Airtel has 27.78 percent market share and Voda-Idea has 27.09 percent market share. At the same time, the government telecom companies BSNL and MTNL are 10.79 per cent of the market.
