Citing the Covid epidemic, the LIC has announced a relaxation of the Claim Settlement Requirement as well as some new rules to make the process easier and hassle-free. According to the new rules, if the death of the policyholder is in a hospital, then on receipt of the death certificate and funeral certificate of the hospital in lieu of death certificate received from the Municipal Corporation for speedy settlement of the claim of the claim. Claim settlement will be done.
Municipal certificate not necessary for claim?
The death certificate issued by the Municipal Commissioner will not be required for the claim. However, instead of the Municipal Certificate, the hospital summary and the receipt of the last action can be used. Or the discharge summary issued by the hospital, along with the clarity of date and time, will have to be submitted along with the receipt of the funeral certificate or burial certificate.
Rules will be applicable for all types of insurance policies of LIC
 Apart from Covid, the rules will also apply for the death claim. Customers will also be helped to stop fraud claim. After the corona disaster, the rules will continue. Apart from this, the process of claim settlement will be expedited. Let us tell you that LIC is the first company to apply the rules for claims. Along with this, LIC settled 9.59 lakh death claims worth Rs 18,137 crore in FY 21.
