Since the Goods and Services Tax (GST) came into force, there is good news for those who have not filed returns so far. Instead of late fee of Rs 100, you can file GST return with fixed late fee of Rs 500 only. People who have canceled their registration can also fill returns.
Earlier there was a facility to submit returns within one month of the cancellation of registration, but now the GST Council has provided relief in it. This is a better opportunity for traders to file GST returns from July to September.
In this, traders can also file zero returns. Late fees will be charged at 500 rupees on delayed returns and in some cases only 250 rupees and the remaining will be waived, whereas earlier it was 100 rupees daily.
You can also file returns by sending a message
CGST commissioner Lallan Kumar told that those whose business has not been run nor produced in the lockdown. They can file a return of zero. For this, the GST Council has made a simple rule that only by entering the GSTN number, writing zero (NIL), will have to message 14409 and their return will be filed. It also does not require login ID or any advisor.

To file the return through SMS, you have to enter the GSTN number and duration from the registered mobile number and send the message to 14409, their return will be filed, this facility is also available on ordinary mobile.
Submit Returns
CGST Commissioner Lallan Kumar said that relief has been provided to those who filed returns till September. So far traders who have not filed returns for any reason can submit their returns.
