The Supreme Court has asked the airlines companies that on cancellation of air tickets, flyers should be allowed to use the credited amount to buy new tickets for 2 years. Till now the air travelers were confused about the period of use of credit.

new Delhi. The Supreme Court has given partial relief to the air travelers seeking full payment of the canceled air tickets during the lockdown. After the lockdown was announced by the airlines (airlines), the tickets booked for air travel between 25 March and 1 June were canceled. After this, credit shells were given to the air travelers, which they can use in the next air journey. There was confusion regarding the period of use of these credit shells. If you understand in easy words, people could not understand how long they could use these credit shells.

Approval should be given to book tickets for any route
The Supreme Court has suggested to airlines companies that air travelers should be allowed to use the credit shell issued for 2 years on cancellation of tickets. The court asked why the credit shells issued by the airlines should be for limited period or same route only. A bench of Supreme Court Justices Ashok Bhushan, SK Kaul and MR Shah also said that the use of these credit shells in booking tickets for any route to air travelers should be approved.

Airlines had offered to use the same route to book tickets within a year through a credit shell issued to customers in lieu of a canceled ticket. This caused a lot of disappointment to the air travelers. At the same time, there was confusion about the refund period when the ticket was canceled. The Supreme Court has also asked the Central Government to discuss ways to return full money by talking to airlines companies in this matter. Now the court will hear the case again after three weeks.

SpiceJet defended, seeking to form parties.
SpiceJet said that no company in the world is returning full money to air travelers on cancellation of tickets. 49 percent of the flying cost remains fixed. During this time the airlines companies have not earned even a penny. In such a situation, it will be difficult to return the money. During the lockdown, a challenging time is going on in front of airlines of the world. Even after the relaxation of lockdown, the number of passengers is very less. SpiceJet has demanded the Supreme Court to make itself a party in the case.
