As soon as the construction of 12.55 kilometer Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor is completed in Metro Phase-IV, the existing Pink Line (Majlis Park to Gokalpuri) will become a ring metro. With this, East, North, South and West Delhi will be directly connected to this network.
Ring metro work running late
Till now Ring Metro is running on a part. Let us tell you that the work of Ring Metro is running late. First of all, the part of Majlis Park to Maujpur will be opened in three corridors of its Phase-4. This work will be completed about 15 months late than its scheduled time. The work of this corridor was earlier to be completed by September in 2023. But due to many reasons now it will be completed in 2024. Under Metro Phase-4, three corridors of 65.10 km length are being built. On the other hand, due to the delay in getting permission for felling of trees, the work from Majlis Park to Maujpur, Janakpuri West to RK Ashram and Aerocity to Tughlakabad will be completed with a delay of 30 months.
Eight new stations will be built
Please tell that under this a total of 8 new metro stations will be built. At the same time, a flyover with a metro pillar will also be built between two metro stations from Bhajanpura to Yamuna Vihar. That is, the road will run at the bottom, the flyover above it and the metro will run above it. This flyover will be 1.4 km long.
Delayed work increased cost
DMRC had set a target to complete the work of all the corridors of Ring Metro by 2025, but now it does not seem to be happening. A total of 2500 trees are to be cut in Metro Phase-4. Please tell that due to the delay in the work, the cost of building three corridors of Metro has also increased by 15 percent. Earlier their cost was to be Rs 10,479.6 crore, which has now increased to Rs 12,048.5 crore.
