If losing a job to a robot was your biggest fear till now, let us introduce you to a robot which is making hiring and firing decisions at over 300 international companies including Pepsi and Ikea
A Russian startup has designed a bot equipped with artificial intelligence which is hiring human workers at over 300 multinational companies which include PepsiCo, Ikea and L’Oreal.
As per a report in Bloomberg Businessweek, Robot Vera speeds the vetting of high-turnover service and blue-collar positions (clerks, waiters, construction workers), cutting the time and cost of recruitment by as much as a third, according to its creators.
Its creators at Stafory explain how Vera works. Vera selects suitable resumes from five job websites according to an employer’s requirements in a few minutes. The robot then places a call to the suitable candidates and tell them about the job. Using modern technologies, Vera can call the candidates and recognise their speech. After making a selection, Vera conducts interviews with the best candidates.
In the end, human recruiters vet the candidates selected by Vera saving their time and resources of the company they work for.
The robot can also remove all matches (same profiles) of CVs after searching on several job sites.
The creator of Vera, Vladimir Sveshnikov (28) and Alexander Uraksin (30) said in the report that the idea to build the robot came as they “felt like robots” themselves as a part of HR team as they had to make hundreds of calls to candidates who’d lost interest in the given job or couldn’t be located.
Programmers at Stafory fed 13 billion examples of syntax and speech from TV, Wikipedia, and job listings to expand the software’s vocabulary and make it sound more natural.
