Salary Hike: The report states that companies can give 1.7 times more increment than average performing employees to retain the best performing employees.

Salary Hike: Indian companies are focusing on improving compensation cost budgets along with dealing with global and local challenges, so the average salary increment of employees is expected to be 8.8 percent in 2025. This estimate has been made in Deloitte India’s report – ‘Deloitte India Talent Outlook 2025’. Let us tell you that in the year 2024, Indian companies gave an average increment of 9.0 percent to their employees. The report also states that 75 percent of the companies will either reduce the salary increment or remain the same as last year.

Employees of the consumer products sector may be disappointed

The Deloitte India report also revealed that while most sectors will keep salary increments stable or marginally lower than last year, the consumer products sector is expected to see a significant reduction in salary increment budgets. In an environment where companies’ revenues are slow, compensation budgets are naturally coming under pressure.

Best performing employees can get 1.7 times more increment

The Deloitte India Talent Outlook 2025 report is based on a survey among executives of more than 500 companies in 7 different sectors. The report states that companies can give 1.7 times more increment than average performing employees to retain the best performing employees. It states that individual contributors and junior management level employees can get 1.3 times more increment than the top management level.

80 percent companies will increase recruitment

According to the survey, this year about 12 percent of the employees can be promoted by their companies, which is almost equal to last year. Layoffs have come down to 17.4 percent in 2024, however, it should be noted that companies of different sectors and sizes are still very optimistic about hiring and about 80 percent of the companies are planning to increase the number of employees in the coming financial year.
