NEW DELHI: South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphones Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ this month. The company has already scheduled an event in San Francisco where it will unveil the two devices. Now ahead of the new launch the company has slashed the prices of its last year’s flagship phones, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
The company has slashed the price of all the three storage variants of both the smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S9 was launched with a starting price tag of Rs 57,900 and it is now selling at Rs 48,900 after the price cut of Rs 9,000. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ which was launched at a starting price of of Rs 64,900 is now available at Rs 57,900 after the price drop of Rs 7,000.
The 256GB variant of Samsung Galaxy S9 is now selling at Rs 55,900 which was earlier available at Rs 65,900. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S9+’s 128GB and 256GB versions can be purchased at Rs 61,900 and 65,900 respectively after the price cut.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ comes with the same Infinity Edge display. The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ display, while the Galaxy S9+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ screen.
The smartphones are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 processor and run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The company has also announced that both the phones will also receive Android 9.0 Pie update as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 offers 4GB of RAM, while the S9+ packs 6GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes in two storage variants — 64GB and 256GB, while the Galaxy S9+ comes in three versions — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Both the handsets offer microSD card support of up to 400GB.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a Super Speed Dual Pixel 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter for selfies. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ comes with dual rear camera setup. The handset sports two 12MP sensors out of which one is telephoto lens and the other is wide angle lens. This one also comes with an 8MP front camera.
Both the smartphones offer all the essential connectivity options. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is backed by a 3000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S9+ houses a 3500 mAh battery. Both the smartphones come with wireless charging support.
