The bank has upgraded its app to protect its customers from online frauds. Through this new security feature, no one else will be able to access your SBI YONO account from any other phone.
SBI YONO will be able to run only with the registered number
In this new security feature, if you use the YONO app for online banking of SBI, then you will be able to access your account only when using the YONO app from the mobile number registered in your account. In case of using SBI YONO from any other mobile number, you will not be able to do any transaction from your account.
SBI during the use of the SBI YONO customers are advised to use the same mobile number, which their bank account Registered in.
Online fraud will be curbed

Online fraudsters often take some information of your account like account number, username, password etc. to withdraw money from your account from any other device. After this security feature, this type of fraud will be curbed.
App needs to be updated
SBI customers will have to update the YONO app to take advantage of this facility. Customers can update it from Google’s Play Store. After updating the app, customers will also have to do verification through OTP. Only after this will you be able to do transactions or other transactions through the app.
There has been a huge increase in the incidents of fraud in the Corona period. For this reason, SBI has added a new feature to its YONO app to make customers’ bank accounts secure. According to a survey by fintech company FIS, during June 2020 to April 2021, a third of bank customers have been victims of cyber fraud. 34 percent of the consumers surveyed said that they have been a victim of financial fraud in the last 12 months. In the age group of 25 to 29, the figure of financial fraud is 41 percent.
