The country’s largest state-run bank State Bank of India (SBI) has alerted customers against online frauds. SBI has alerted more than 44 crore customers of its customers regarding KYC fraud.
SBI has warned customers not to click on embedded links sent through SMS. The bank has given this information to the customers by tweeting. The bank said that by clicking on the linker given on such MMS, your bank balance may become zero. On receiving any message in the name of SBI, check the short code of the bank whether it is correct or not.
The bank has warned that it never asks its customers to update KYC through SMS on the embedded link sent. Let us tell you that with the increase in digital transactions in the country, the cases of online fraud have increased very fast. Fraudsters are cheating customers in new ways. Sometimes lotteries are making people their victims through QR codes.
State Bank of India said in its tweet, here is an example of #YehWrongNumberHai, KYC fraud. Such SMS can lead to fraud, and you can lose your savings. Do not click on embedded links. On receiving the SMS, check the correct short code of SBI. Stay alert and stay tuned to #SafeWithSBI.
The bank said that the fraudsters are defrauding the customers like this. They send such MMS to customers Dear customer, your SBI documents have expired. Your account will be blocked within 24 hours. Please click on this link to upload your KYC- http://ibit.ly/oMwK. SBI said, the bank will never ask you to update/complete your KYC by clicking on the link embedded in the SMS. Be alert and stay safe with SBI.

The bank had said that if you get any QR code from any person, then do not scan it even by mistake. Doing so may cause money to disappear from your account.
