SBI and BOB Bank Locker Agreement: India’s largest public sector banks State Bank of India (SBI) and Bank of Baroda (BOB) have asked customers having bank lockers to sign a new bank agreement by December 31, 2023. If you are also going to the bank branch to sign a new agreement, then first check the list of bank holidays because out of the remaining 11 days of the year 2023, banks are going to be closed for 7 days. To sign bank agreements, all banks are asking their customers to sign through e-mail and message.

This is the list of bank holidays

Let us know how many bank holidays are going to come in the next month i.e. December 2023.

  • 23 December 2023: Saturday, there will be a bank holiday due to the fourth Saturday.
  • 24 December 2023: There will be bank holiday due to Sunday.
  • 25 December 2023: Monday, banks will remain closed across the country due to Christmas.
  • 26 December 2023: Tuesday, banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya due to Christmas celebrations.
  • 27 December 2023: Wednesday, banks will remain closed in Nagaland due to Christmas.
  • 30 December 2023: Saturday, banks will remain closed in Meghalaya due to U Kiang Nangbah.
  • 31 December 2023: There will be a bank holiday due to Sunday.

Go to the bank branch after seeing the list of bank holidays.

Most all banks have issued a revised bank locker agreement covering the customer’s rights. Bank locker customers are required to sign on it. Banks are also asking their customers to visit the bank through phone calls, SMS and emails. Not only this, banks are also keeping stamp papers for the customers. So that, customers just have to come to the bank and sign. Customers have to go to the bank and give their Aadhaar, PAN and photo. Also, stamp paper and bank locker agreement will have to be signed.

Banks also have to complete this work by 31st December

RBI has ordered all banks to sign the new agreement with bank locker holders by 31 December 2023. All banks have been directed to provide necessary information to their customers as well as update the status of their locker agreements on the efficient portal of RBI. Most people keep their gold and important documents in bank lockers. In such a situation, it is necessary to sign an agreement for the safety of the items kept in the locker.
