SBI Credit Card Rules: In today’s time, the use of credit card has become very high. People also pay their utility bills like electricity, water, gas through credit card. However, if you use SBI credit card, then it may be a little expensive for you to use it in the coming time. SBI Card has given a big shock to its users. SBI Card has made two big changes in the rules of credit card, due to which you may have to pay more money.

Charge on paying utility bill from December 1

SBI Card has said that from December 1, paying utility bill through credit card will become expensive for some customers. If you pay utility bill of more than Rs 50 thousand through credit card, then you will have to pay an additional charge of 1 percent on it. If the utility bill is less than Rs 50,000, then you will not have to pay any additional charge on it.

Change in finance charge also

SBI has also made some changes in the finance charge of all unsecured credit cards except Shaurya / Defense Credit Card. Now a finance charge of 3.75% will be levied on SBI Card’s unsecured credit card. This rule will come into effect from November 1, 2024. Let us tell you that unsecured credit cards are those credit cards for which no security deposit or collateral has to be given. On the other hand, secured credit cards are those credit cards which are taken in exchange for any security or collateral. Like credit cards given in exchange for fixed deposit (FD) are secured credit cards.

If you also use SBI credit card, then now you may have to pay some additional charge on it. However, these changes will not apply to everyone. As far as the utility bill is concerned, to avoid the extra charge on it, you should make the payment keeping in mind the limit of Rs 50,000.
