SBI Customers Alert! If you are a SBI customer then avoid fake calls, messages with KYC verification requests, these tips are useful for you.

New Delhi: A fraud has surfaced across the country in the last few months. Fraudsters working as bank officials have cheated people. They call people and tell them that they need to legalize KYC, ask the fraudster to help complete the online process and make a bank account breach. State Bank of India (SBI) has warned against fraudulent calls, requesting KYC verification. SBI said in a tweet, “Protect yourself from fraudulent calls or messages requesting KYC verification.” The bank has also said that any such fraud should be reported immediately to SBI.




What is KYC verification?

KYC means know your customer. To ensure that their customers are genuine. Therefore verification via phone, text or email is not correct. So, if you get a call or message for KYC verification then remember that it is a fraud call.

SBI has given seven tips to avoid these fraud …

1) Do not share OTP with anyone

2) Avoid remote access applications

3) Do not share Aadhaar copy with strangers

4) Update your new contact details in your bank account.

5) Change your password evenly.

6) Do not share your mobile and confidential data with anyone.

7) Think before clicking any link.

SBI said that if you notice any unauthorized transactions in your bank account, enter it immediately on the toll-free customer care number – 18004253800, 1800112211. Or report cyber crimes at https://cybercrime.gov.in.
