SBI issued alert for customers

Because of this SBI had increased the debt limit

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in January extended the deadline for banks to enter into revised agreements with safe deposit locker holders till the end of December. The reason for this is that there are still many customers who have not completed it. In August 2021, the RBI had asked banks to enter into revised agreements with existing locker holders by January 1, 2023, in view of various developments in banking and technology, customer complaints and feedback received from them.

Customers haven’t signed in yet

RBI has said in a statement that still many customers have not signed the revised agreement. Apart from this, banks have not yet informed the customers about doing so before the due date. Apart from this, RBI also said that many bank customers are facing difficulties in doing so. Banks will also have to arrange for stamp paper with their customers, electronic execution of agreement, e-stamping, and give a copy of the agreement to the customer.
