If your account is in State Bank of India (SBI), then there is big news for you. SBI has started a new facility for its customers. In fact, SBI has introduced a new system of security for customers’ accounts in YONO and YONO Lite app, SIM binding.
With the new version of these two apps of SBI, customers will get a way to avoid many types of digital frauds. The system of SIM binding on Yono and Yona Lite app will work only on those mobiles whose SIM card is verified with the bank. That is, to make Yono and Yono Lite secure, customers will have to register the SIM card.

Customers who want to take the new version of YONO and YONA Lite, those mobile holders will have to complete the entire process of registration with the bank. In this new system, the customer will have to verify the SIM of the mobile number already registered with the bank. Customers have to decide that they should register the SIM of the same mobile phone which is linked to their registered mobile number.
After the verification of the SIM card, many measures will be available to avoid cyber fraud on YONO and YONO Lite app. Banking of customers will be more secure than before. In view of the increasing incidents of cyber fraud, State Bank has started this new system.
Registration will be like this
Actually, the feature of SIM binding has been launched in Yono and Yono Lite app itself. For this, customers have to first update Yono and Yono Lite app. With this, a new version of both the apps will be available.
More security measures have been given in these apps than before. After updating the app, the customer will have to complete a one-time registration process. Through this process, the bank will verify the SIM of the registered mobile number. It should be the same number which is already entered in the bank. The customer will also have to register his phone in which the registered mobile number is to be used.

Android user download and open SBI YONO Lite app from Play Store. Select SIM1 or SIM2 to register with SBI. If there is a single SIM then there is no need to do SIM selection
– a message will be sent to your mobile number asking the mobile device to send an SMS. This is necessary to verify the mobile number
– now click on the Proceed button. You will be sent a unique code from the mobile number to the pre-defined number,
now you will be redirected to the registration screen. Here you have to enter username and password. Finally click on Register button
– Enter the term and condition for registration and finally click on OK
– After this an activation code will be received on the registered mobile number. This code will be valid for next 30 minutes
– Now to complete the activation process, the already found code has
to be entered – After completing this process, the user can login to the YONO Lite app.
