All institutions will also have to do Aadhaar authentication to get the benefit of the Central Government’s scholarship scheme to the students of minority community from class one to higher education. It is mandatory for institutions to get Aadhaar authentication for minority scholarships of the Central Government. Students belonging to the minority category of institutions that do not have Aadhaar authentication will not be able to get the benefit of the Central Government scholarship.



District Minority Welfare Officer Son Kumar explains that after KYC, the designated nodal officer of the institute will have to authenticate his/her Aadhaar. Minority students of institutions which will not get Aadhaar authentication will not be able to apply for the scholarship. Pre-matric institutions can do Aadhaar authentication till November 15 and other institutions till November 30. He explains that the students get the benefit of only one scholarship scheme from either the state government or the central government.



Minority students from class 1 to 8 get scholarship

Under the centrally funded scholarship scheme, only minority students of classes one to eight get the benefit of the scholarship scheme. District Minority Welfare Officer explains that under the scheme, children of minority community from class one to five get a scholarship of one thousand and scholarship and fee reimbursement according to the course from class six to ten. At the same time, the Central Government reimburses the fees of minority students in Post Metric (from 11 to PhD) and Merit cum Means (Professional and Technical courses).
