Yogi government has made strict attendance rules in the case of students taking scholarship in UP. Students will now have to go through Aadhaar base attendance for scholarship and fee reimbursement. That is, students studying through scholarship will have to compulsorily register through biometric identification. For this, all institutions, including universities, will have to set up an Aadhar Base Attendance System. Students without 75% attendance will be ineligible for the scholarship.
According to the new rule, the institution will have to certify the Aadhar Base attendance every month and upload it on the scholarship portal. Siddharth Mishra, assistant director of social welfare, says that the process for Aadhaar base attendance has started. It has also been included in the SC-ST rules. Aadhar Base Attendance can be done by thumb or fingerprints, facial recognition or by accessing the college campus from anywhere.
Officials say that arrangements are being made to keep the details of attendance in NIC. Aadhar base attendance system will be installed in the institute campus. the university or agency to which the institution is affiliated, Attendance will go there daily. From there it will go to NIC. Then NIC will give the attendance data of the students to the social welfare. The attendance will be tallied during the scholarship distribution. The institute will not be able to tamper with the attendance of the students even if they want.
Till now the institutes used to certify 75 percent attendance and send it to the department. Sources say that in such a situation the arbitrariness of the institutions was going on. He used to send the attendance of most of the students after certifying 75 percent.
