School Closed News: Fog prevailed in Lakhimpur Kheri district since Tuesday morning. There were also clouds in the sky, due to which the sun did not come out till 12 noon. Public life was badly affected by cold wave and excessive melting. In view of the cold, the DM has ordered a holiday in all schools from nursery to 12th.
DM Order For School Holiday: In view of the severe cold and cold wave in Lakhimpur Kheri district, holiday has been declared in recognized schools of all boards. During this time, there are instructions to open those schools where practical examinations are to be held. The holiday will be till January 14. On Tuesday afternoon, DIOS Dr. Mahendra Pratap Singh issued an order and directed the school managers to follow the order.
Holiday declared till January 14
After receiving instructions from DM Durga Shakti Nagpal, DIOS Dr. Mahendra Pratap Singh has announced a holiday in schools. In the letter issued, DIOS said that in view of the cold, classes from nursery to intermediate of all boards will remain suspended till January 14. If the time has been fixed for pre-board examinations apart from practical examinations in the recognized schools of various boards, then the school management there is free to call the high school and intermediate examinees on time.
People shivering due to icy wind
Cold wind blew throughout the day in the district on Tuesday, due to which people kept shivering. In Nighasan, concrete arrangements have not been made to protect people from cold. Only two bonfires have been lit in the town. There is husk on them, but wood is missing. There is no heat in the bonfire, people are shivering.
Clouds and fog covered the sky in the area since morning. The cold increased further due to cold winds. Passengers traveling by rail or bus have been shivering in the cold at public places. Guddu, Parshuram, Pradeep, Jaiprakash and Manoj of the town said that every year the administration lights bonfires to protect from the cold. This time bonfires have been lit only at two places, at the tyre crossing and the private bus stand. Bonfires have not been lit at the railway station crossing and the roadways bus stand.
Nighasan’s deputy tehsildar Hareram said that permission for bonfires has been given at two places in the town of Tikunia, which are being lit. If there is no wood, then arrangements will be made for it. The remaining two places are being looked for.
