April 10, 2025 (Thursday) – Mahavir Jayanti
The birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, will be celebrated on April 10. On this occasion, schools are closed in many states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
April 13, 2025 (Sunday) – Baisakhi
Baisakhi is celebrated as the Sikh New Year and harvest festival in Punjab and northern India. This festival is also falling on Sunday.
April 14, 2025 (Monday) – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti/Tamil New Year
Ambedkar Jayanti is a national holiday. Also, schools in South India will also remain closed due to Vishu in Kerala and Tamil New Year in Tamil Nadu.
18 April 2025 (Friday) – Good Friday
The Christian community celebrates Good Friday to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Schools across the country are closed on this occasion.
