School Holiday: The effect of dense fog and mist was seen in the district on Sunday in Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius. In view of the increasing effect of cold, Basic Education Officer Shalini Srivastava has directed to keep all board schools closed till January 31. All schools up to class 8th will remain closed here.

Due to increasing cold and fog in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, District Magistrate Divya Mittal has issued an order regarding schools. In view of the increasing cold and fog in the district, holiday has been declared in schools up to class 8 on the instructions of District Magistrate Divya Mittal. The order states that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the problems faced by children due to cold. During this time, children up to class 8 will have a holiday but teachers will be present regularly in schools.
Transport services affected due to fog
Transport services were also affected due to cold and fog. Long distance buses, such as those coming from Kanpur and Lucknow, arrived two hours late than their scheduled time. The bus service coming from Delhi also arrived three hours late. The main reason for the delay in transport is believed to be the change in weather.
