School Holiday Update: Schools have been closed due to severe cold in these cities of this state. Classes from nursery to class 8 have been postponed till January 21, 2025, to ensure the safety of the students. However, it is mandatory for teachers and staff to be present in the school for administrative work from 10 am to 3 pm.

UP School Holiday: The outbreak of cold wave continues in Uttar Pradesh. Keeping in mind the safety of the students, the district administration has ordered the closure of schools from nursery to class 8 in Mirzapur, Ayodhya and other affected districts till January 21, 2025. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the health and safety of the children due to extreme cold.

Holiday orders: Relief for students, but strict instructions for staff

Mirzapur district order

According to the District Magistrate Mirzapur, all schools from nursery to class-8 (U.P. Board, CBSE, and ICSE) will remain closed till January 21. However, teachers and other staff will have to attend the school regularly from 10 am to 3 pm and perform administrative work like DBT, U-Dias and other government responsibilities.

Ayodhya district order

In Ayodhya, District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh has ordered that all schools from pre-primary to class 5 will remain closed till January 25, 2025. At the same time, schools from class 6 to 12 will operate from 10 am to 3 pm. The administration has taken this decision keeping in mind the effect of cold and the safety of the children.

Order of Agra district

In view of the severe cold in Agra, all CBSE, ICSE, secondary and government and private schools will open on January 20, it was ordered to remain closed till Sunday 19. Online classes can be conducted as per the school management. Teachers have been instructed to continue working as per the instructions of the management.

Important instructions for staff

Teachers, Shikshamitras, instructors and other staff will have to be compulsorily present in the school from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Instructions have been given to complete DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), U-Dias (Unified District Information System for Education), and other administrative work in the school on time.

Effect of cold wave and administration’s step

Due to cold wave and falling temperatures, life is being affected in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Giving priority to the health safety of children, it has been decided to close the schools. The administration has ensured that this holiday is only for students, while teachers and staff will have to follow their assigned tasks.
