Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor And Arjun Rampal To Be Summoned In Drug Probe? NCB Rubbishes Report As “false stories”

After Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is now reportedly planning to summon superstars Shahrukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor among others. Actors Arjun Rampal and Dino Morea’s names have also come up in the ongoing drug probe related to the death of 34-year-old actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a report in Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar claimed.

However, the aforementioned report claiming that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) plans to summon the superstars has been rubbished as “false stories”. The report by the Hindi daily claimed NCB will soon summon Deepika Padukone’s male co-stars with initials S, R and A. Actors Arjun Rampal and Dino Morea’s names have also come up in the ongoing drug probe related to the death of 34-year-old actor Sushant Singh Rajput. A senior official has now told Times of India that the reports are “False.”

 

When asked to confirm the news, an official said, “Do you want me to comment on false stories, some of the media is reporting?” TOI reported. Also clarifying that the NCB has not granted “clean-chit” to the actresses who were summoned for questioning. Those reports are also not factual, according to the sources. “The news article mentioning that the drugs law enforcement agency giving a clean chit to those examined by NCB is devoid of the facts and truth,” an official told.

 

What happened so far?
According to a Twitter sources, ‘S’ has been allegedly identified to be Shahrukh Khan. Subsequently, ‘R’ is Ranbir Kapoor and ‘A’ and ‘D’ are reportedly Arjun Rampal and Dino Morea, respectively. These four names have been quoted by Dainik Bhaskar. It is also reported that the NCB is likely to send summon notices to them to see whether or not they have any links with the case, an official of NCB has revealed the names, the report said.

On Saturday, NCB seized the mobile phones of Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan in its probe and recorded their statements. The actors’ names came up in the investigation related to a viral video from a rave party reportedly hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. Along with Padukone, stars like Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar among others were seen in the viral video.

The Padmaavat actress, Padukone was questioned for six hours at the Evelyn Guest House in Mumbai’s Colaba, where the NCB’s special investigation team has set up a base. Karishma Prakash also joined the actress at the NCB SIT headquarters where a total of six people have been summoned.

According to sources, after five hours Padukone reportedly confessed to the leaked “drug chats” with her manager Prakash. It was also exposed that in the discussion, she used words like “maal” and “hash”.




What does the alleged chat with Deepika say:
According to news reports, Padukone was the admin of a WhatsApp group chat which also had Sushant Singh Rajput’s former talent manager Jaya Saha as a member. Saha, who was also grilled for three consecutive days, has reportedly been questioned in connection to “drugs procurement”. Multiple reports claim that she was the one “leaked” the alleged “drug chats” with the agency. She alleged that it was Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash, who allegedly “catered to the celebrities.”

These chats took place in 2017. According to a TOI report, both Padukone and her manager have admitted to this WhatsApp chats. In the chat, a person denoted as ‘D’, has been allegedly identified to as Deepika Padukone, Times Now reported. In the chat ‘D’ asks for “maal” and “hash” from another persona called ‘K’, reportedly Karishma Prakash, her manager. They later talk about another person named “Amit”. The chat also revealed her stylist Shaleena Nathani’s name. Meanwhile, the report also states that some of her answers were found unsatisfactory by the NCB officials.

Another celebrity, Kshitij Prasad’s (Former Executive Producer and Director with Dharma Productions) name came up during the drug scandal investigation. An NCB source revealed that Prasad bought Ganja 12 times in 3 months. He reportedly supplied narcotic substances to the above-mentioned celebs at parties. However, filmmaker Karan Johar, who owns Dharma Productions, earlier clarified in a statement that he doesn’t know Prasad personally. “Several media/news channels have been airing news reports that Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra are my ‘aides’/’close aides’. I would like to place on record that I do not know these individuals personally and neither of these two individuals are ‘aides’ or ‘close aides.”

According to the NCB, the drug-probe has exposed a new angle in connection with actor Rajput’s death. The investigation has revealed names of A-list celebrities and they have been asked to “join the probe”. Meanwhile, after several hours of questioning, Sara, who starred with Rajput in Kedarnath, told the officials that he cheated on her during the short relationship that they shared. According to the report, NCB sources say that Sara and Rajput broke up in 2019. The officials have also been conducting an investigation into the alleged financial angle of Rajput’s death.
