Share Market Holiday: The stock market remains closed due to all major festivals or days. Today, October 2 is Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Public establishments remain closed on this day. In such a situation, the question arises whether the stock market will be closed today. The answer is yes.

There will be no trading in the stock market on October 2 (Wednesday). Both Indian stock exchanges, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed on October 2 to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

The market will open on October 3

According to the Bombay Stock Exchange website, trading in equity, equity derivatives, currency, SLB, commodity and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments will be closed on October 2. Now the regular session in the stock market will start on October 3 and investors will be allowed to trade. Apart from October 2, there is no other holiday in the month of October.

Market closed in November too?

November 1 is the auspicious festival of Diwali. The stock market is not completely closed on this day, but there is no trading like on normal days. The stock market remains closed throughout the day and the exchanges organize a special trading session in the evening, which is called Muhurat Trading Session. This session will mark the beginning of Samvat 2081, a new Hindu calendar year.

China and Hong Kong markets closed

Talking about other Asian markets apart from India, there are going to be holidays in China and Hong Kong in October. A week-long celebration will be held in China from October 1 to October 7 to commemorate the National Day. In such a situation, the stock market of China is going to remain closed this week.
