The stock market will remain closed on November 15 (Friday) due to Guru Nanak Jayanti. Guru Nanak Gurpurab is also known as Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav. It celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru of the Sikh community – Guru Nanak. He laid the foundation of Sikhism. There is a national holiday on this occasion. Banks and other public institutions remain closed on this day. There will also be a holiday in the stock market on this day.
There will also be a holiday on Maharashtra elections
The stock market will be closed on November 20 (Wednesday) due to Maharashtra assembly elections. On this day, voting will be held on 288 seats in the state. Counting of votes will be done on November 23. Maharashtra contributes about 14 percent to India’s gross domestic product (GDP). Maharashtra’s importance also increases from this point of view.
The stock market was also closed on Diwali
The stock market was also closed on November 1 due to Diwali. However, a special one-hour Muhurat trading session was organized on Diwali from 6:00 pm to 7:10 pm. This is an age-old tradition of the stock market.
There will be no holiday on Children’s Day
The birth anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is on November 14. It is celebrated as Children’s Day. On this day, awareness is promoted about children’s rights, education and welfare. However, the stock market is not closed on this day and trading continues as usual.
The market will also remain closed on December 25
Next month i.e. in December, the stock market will remain closed on December 25 (Wednesday) in addition to the weekly holiday. That day will be Christmas, which is the most important festival of the Christian community. Jesus Christ was born on this day. Christmas is celebrated in most countries around the world and is also a public holiday there.
