Shashidhar Jagadishan is currently working as the group head and chain agent of HDFC. He oversees the functioning of Finance, Human Resource, Legal, Administration, Infrastructure, Corporate Communication and CSR of HDFC Bank. Jagdishan, who joined the bank in 1996, will take over as the head of HDFC after nearly 25 years. He started his job as a manager in the finance function in 1996. He then became the Business Head of Finance in 1999 and again in 2008, he was given the responsibility as Chief Financial Officer.
29 years of working experience: According to the bank, Shashidhar Jagdishan has played an important role in the growth of the bank in the past years. He has helped in achieving the target continuously in a few years given the functioning of finance. Jagadishan has nearly 29 years of working experience in the banking sector. Jagdishan is a CA by profession, completing his graduation with Physics in Science. Apart from this, he has also obtained a master’s degree in economics.
These people were also in the race to become CEO: Significantly, the current CEO Aditya Puri is going to retire from his post on October 26. A panel was formed on behalf of the bank to seek his successor. Apart from Shashidhar Jagdishan, Kaizad Bharucha of the bank and Sunil Garg of Citibank were also considered in this race. However, in the end, only Shasidhar, who had long work experience with the bank, was given priority.
