YouTube Premium plans in India: Google has increased the price of premium plans, which has come as a big shock to the users using premium plans. Are you also a member of YouTube Premium? If yes, then there is bad news for you. Google has increased the price of YouTube Premium plans by up to 58% in India. However, the platform still allows some users to claim YouTube Premium for free. This offer is only for new users.
Now the student plan of YouTube Premium has become ₹89 per month and the individual plan has become ₹149 per month. Earlier the student and individual plan was ₹79 and ₹129. The price of family and annual individual plans has increased a lot. The family pack is now ₹299, which was earlier ₹189.
Now the annual individual prepaid plan is ₹1,490, earlier it was ₹1,290. The quarterly individual prepaid plan is now priced at ₹459, while the monthly individual prepaid is now priced at ₹159.
YouTube Premium subscription
If you don’t know, YouTube Premium is a service from Google that lets you watch ad-free videos. You also get the YouTube Music app for free, which lets you listen to all kinds of music on YouTube. This is a great feature as you don’t have to pay extra to listen to music tracks without ads on apps like Spotify and you don’t have audio missing issues on the YouTube Music app, which happens with popular apps like JioSaavn. The YouTube app has an option to download music, a lyrics section and all the other basic features you would need in any online music app.
YouTube Premium: How to get it for free?
Those who are already YouTube Premium members cannot avail this free scheme. If you have multiple YouTube or Google accounts, you will see a banner offering 3 months of free membership. This offer will be visible to accounts that have never been linked to YouTube Premium.
