Shutdown of Tajmahal: lock hanging on Taj Mahal, snatching hundreds from mouth

Agra, Jagran correspondent. Corona virus infection in the city of Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, has broken the back of the tourism industry. The locks of the monuments that have been closed since March 17 are not seen opening yet. If this detention is prolonged, then the problems will increase for the tourism industry, which will not be easy to overcome. Anyway, the effect of the closure of the monuments is visible.

This is a crisis in front of the tourism industry

Due to the closure of monuments, the tourism industry will not be able to recover for a long time. In the 101-day detention, the expenses of the people associated with the tourism industry are intact and the income is zero. The burden of government taxes has not come down. This is ending their savings.

– There is a possibility of damage to the establishments. Most hotels, guest houses, restaurants, emporiums are closed. They can be harmed without maintenance.

– The biggest crisis is to win trust and confidence of tourists. In the absence of treatment, the news of the suffering of the patients dying, the problems of the workers going home has shaken the world.

– Opening of monuments, introduction of international flights, there is still a situation of uncertainty on visas. Little is known when the monuments will reopen. In this situation neither tourists can plan their tour nor can tourism entrepreneurs do anything.

Investment in tourism may be affected due to the impact on tourism of Corona and the possibility of less number of tourists.

– Employees were discharged by the hotels in lock down. Now they will lack skilled labor on reopening.

Controversies have started over the properties of the rent. Property owners are seeking rent and tenant time due to lack of income. Notice has been sent about this.

The tourism industry suffers a major brunt of the closure of the monuments. The industry was not ready for this. This had never happened before. A sudden decision has neither a chance to understand nor to be managed. This is the reason that despite the opening of other industries, the tourism industry is still closed. The government should help tourism in the same way as other industries.

-Sandeep Arora, President Agara Tourism Development Foundation

80 percent of the tourism industry in Agara are associated with the Taj Mahal. People are in bad condition due to long captivity and they are facing a crisis of livelihood. When malls and markets can open, the Taj Mahal should also open. This will provide employment to people and earn their income. Local tourism can be started similar to other countries.
