Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are considered to be much better than Rajdhani Express and Tejas Express trains and faster than Shatabdi Express trains. Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will be operated keeping in mind punctuality and efficiency. This train is specially designed for those passengers who travel long distances.
Train will run in January:
Indian Railways is preparing to introduce the sleeper version of Vande Bharat train soon, with the first set being flagged off from Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) in Bengaluru on 20 September. According to recent news, this train is likely to start in January 2025. Sleeper coaches have been produced by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in collaboration with BEML.
Trial preparations in full swing:

This train will be equipped with facilities like comfortable berths, clean and modern toilets, high speed Wi-Fi, reading lights, and high speed mobile charging points. Train will be on track in two months:
Regarding the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that “The work on the trainset of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is in full swing and the first train will be on the track within two months. All technical work is in the final stages. This trainset is being manufactured by BEML Limited at their rail unit in Bengaluru,” he also said that “its structure is made of high quality austenitic stainless steel, which includes crashworthy elements in crash buffers and couplers.”
Let us tell you that advanced technology has been used in this train in terms of security, such as CCTV cameras and fire detection systems which make this train even more special.
The train will run like Chetak:
According to the ToI report, Vande Bharat Sleeper, which will come with better facilities than Rajdhani Express, will be a semi-high speed train with a speed of 160 km per hour. The trial of this train will be done at 180 km per hour. The first prototype built by BEML will have a total of 16 coaches, which will include 11 AC 3 tier coaches, 4 AC 2 tier coaches, and one AC first class coach. Also two coaches will be SLR. This 16-coach train is designed to carry a total of 823 passengers, with 611 berths in AC 3 tier, 188 in AC 2 tier and 24 in AC 1.
When and on which route will it be launched:
After taking over the reins of the Railways once again, the Railway Minister while talking to the media had said that by the end of this year, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will start running on the track. He said that first of all two Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will be started. Let us tell you that the route has not been decided yet, but it is believed that it can be started from Delhi-Mumbai or Delhi-Kolkata route in January 2025.
Fare of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train:
Let us tell you that the fare of these trains has not been decided yet. Although this train will be equipped with high facilities in India, it is believed that its fare can be 10 to 15 percent more than the fare of trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi.
Vande Metro will also be launched soon:
According to a Times of India report, along with the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, the Indian Railways is also preparing to launch the Vande Metro, designed for short-distance inter-city travel, and its trials will also begin soon. Currently, BEML is building the first prototype.
