Eight such cities are already in different stages of implementation. Trunk infrastructure has been built in four cities – Dholera (Gujarat), Auric (Maharashtra), Vikram Udyogpuri (Madhya Pradesh) and Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
The Union Cabinet took an important decision on Wednesday and approved the establishment of 12 industrial smart cities on the lines of Greater Noida across the country. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave this information. According to ANI news, the cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved this decision. These smart cities will be built under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NIDCP). Under this, 10 states of the country will be covered and a total of 6 corridors will be built.

- Khurpiya – Uttarakhand
- Rajpura-Patiala – Punjab
- Dighi – Maharashtra
- Palakkad – Kerala
- Agra and Prayagraj – Uttar Pradesh
- Gaya – Bihar
- Zaheerabad – Telangana
- Orvakal and Kopparthi – Andhra Pradesh
- Jodhpur and Pali – Rajasthan
Government will invest ₹28,602 crores
Giving information, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government will invest about ₹28,602 crores in these projects. He said that these industrial hubs have the potential of investing Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The construction of this industrial smart city will generate 10 lakh jobs directly and 30 lakh jobs indirectly.
